In the book, Feed, it’s really the characters that make the story. There are the perks of having the feed, the ‘positive’ side that is shown by Titus, and then we have the ‘negative’ side that is shown by Violet. If the story had just been about Titus and his friends, it would have been biased, focusing on the oblivious partying teenagers. That’s where the antagonist, Violet comes in, without her, we don’t see both sides of the feed. However, had the story been shown by only Violet’s side, the reader’s opinions might have been biased seeing only the dark side. But since both characters were brought together, the reader gets a chance to see for himself whether the feed is a good thing or not. This makes the story 150% more interesting.
